Let’s learn about The Pool Boys® in League City, Texas! This company is family owned and operated and provides weekly pool service in League City, Clear Lake, Friendswood, Pearland and the surrounding areas.

The Pool Boys team is heavily experienced with all types of equipment and manufacturers and pride themselves on excellent customer service, staying up to date on the latest training and certifications possible. From filters to pumps, to automation and heaters, they stock several parts on their service trucks for same-day service in many cases.

We wanted to find out why they choose Raypak time and time again when it comes to selecting heaters for their various clientele. When we asked co-founder Zac Nicklas why he continues to choose Raypak over other competitors he stated, “My main reason for choosing AVIA is because of Raypak as a company. I also love the NiTek footprint and ease of installation but mainly, we found Raypak to be a great company to work with. We love that they offer training for us and overall, they are easy to get a hold of. Our rep is always on the ball and quick to respond and help us. The NiTek heat exchanger comes in at comparable cost to competitors, so it’s a no-brainer for us to go with Raypak.”

After hearing about their positive interactions with their Raypak rep, Adam Gunter, we sat down with him and asked him to tell us about what it is like to work with Zac and Justin (Morehead). 

Zach and Justin have been a model of growth in our industry. I remember calling on them years ago when they had a retail store and ran service out of the back. They were never scared to take the time to educate themselves and their employees. A lot of companies I meet rely on in-the-field-peer-training only. They would invite and welcome myself and other vendors to come in to present to their entire team about educational and training efforts.”

They have always appeared to be one of the more professional outfits running the streets.  Posts on social media with their vans and trucks getting cleaned regularly. Through best practices in running a first-class operation he gained confidence in his business and was able to start breaking away from what others were doing and cut his own path in the industry. I think most companies go with the flow and try to stick with one brand over another or just install what products were on the pad for ease.  

I remember a conversation I had with Zach once about this. He referenced when he first started in the industry, he charged what others charged to be competitive. Worrying about how he could just be a part of the industry.  Now his mindset is to encourage others that there are other options. They want to offer their customers the best service and the best products in their eyes.  They do a lot of education and testing on these products because they want to make sure they offer the best features and longevity for their customers.  

AVIA presented them with the ability to break away from the Big 3 mold and offer a competitively priced product where they can actually offer an upgraded heat exchanger in NiTek to their customers.”
